TRUE STORY: Yesterday, I went to see a prospective new client. I drove there, got to the red and white barrier, leant out, pressed the button on the squawk box and the voice asked me, “Name?”
I said, Chris West.
“Who you here to see?”, I told him.
“Which company are you from?”, so I told him Verbal Identity.
Then he said, “Oh, that sounds interesting…tell me a bit more!” So I gave him my 30 second pitch about how brands need a distinctive narrative and a distinctive voice, and the barrier lifted and I drove in.
But to get to reception, you’ve got to walk out of the car park, along the pavement, and up the steps…
